Sarah has been a professional songwriter since 1994.  The Tennessee native has enjoyed having songs recorded in country, pop, bluegrass, contemporary folk, alt-rock, and gospel genres.  After the success of her first cut, “Love Lessons” by  Tracy  Byrd (which was the title track, a top-five hit, and won her a BMI Millionaire award), her place among the Nashville songwriting community was firmly established.

Sarah loves to perform and enjoyed a brief stint as a recording artist for Giant Records and later, Dreamworks. She realized that her passion was writing; in particular, developing new artists and helping them find their lyrical voices.  Some artists she has worked intensively to develope, include:  The Kinley’s, Jimmy Wayne, Sarah Buxton, and Rissi Palmer.

After her first hit with Tracy  Byrd, she has had hundreds of songs recorded by such artists as Trisha Yearwood, “Standing Out In A Crowd”, Trace Adkins, “That Night He Can’t Remember”, Vince Gill / Jenny Gill, ” Little Orphan Girl”, The  Kinley’s, “You’re Still Here”, “Contradiction”,  Rissi Palmer, “Country Girl”, “This World”,   Michelle Wright, ” Love Me Anyway”,  Michael  Peterson, ” About Caroline”, The Wilkinson’s, “I See Your Car”, Maia Sharp, ” Regular Jane”, Matt King, ” Hell’s Kitchen”, Megan  Mullins, ” All American Family Band”, John Cowan and the Grooveyards, “Always A Mystery”,  No Secrets, ” I Know What I Want”,  Valerie Smith and Liberty Pike, “Heart Of The House”, “Summer’s Last Dance”, “Healin’ Hills” , just to name a few…

Sarah’s songs have also been featured on the television series Extreme Makeover,  and Saving Grace, and the 2008 horror film, Trailer Park of Terror .  She also has two songs on the 2009 cd/documentary project,  This is my America.
